Suzan B. Kotler, CFP®, CDFA
Suzan’s experience in the financial services industry spans almost four decades.
She began her career on Wall Street, obtaining her securities registrations and working on the options desk at First Boston in 1977. She then moved on to ELMS Capital Management, a boutique portfolio management firm, where she spent the next five years, until she joined Merrill Lynch’s Park Avenue office as an account executive.
In 1989, Suzan earned her CFP® certification, relocated to Cincinnati, and, in 1992, opened an independent financial planning practice. She has provided financial advice in Cincinnati Magazine, been featured on Channel 12 News as a financial expert, and appeared in the Cincinnati Enquirer as a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst (CDFA).
Suzan has received the FIVE STAR Wealth Manager Award* (which represents a select group of less than 4 percent of wealth managers in the Cincinnati area) for six consecutive years, most recently in 2014.
Suzan is committed to financial education, with 20 years of experience teaching classes on women and finance as an adjunct faculty member at the University of Cincinnati and as assistant director for New York University’s School of Continuing Education Banking and Finance department. During her tenure at NYU, she obtained approval for the first CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification prep course. Suzan has dedicated her career to making financial ideas accessible, both to her students and her clients.
